Partnering With Facilities

Partnering With Facilities

At Vericare, we understand the challenges facing skilled care facility administrators. Today, more than 40 percent of facility residents exhibit signs of clinical depression or anxiety; while 40 percent of dementia patients present additional psychiatric symptoms.

Untreated, these residents require extra staff time, increase costs and make it difficult to deliver appropriate care for all. Time that should be spent interacting with new patients, their families and other loved ones can be lost attending to the needs of patients with undiagnosed and untreated behavioral conditions.

Skilled care facility administrators are frequently challenged to find adequate solutions to provide mental health care for their elderly patients. Nationally, fewer than five percent of nursing home residents with reported behavioral disorders receive the appropriate treatment they need.

Vericare helps us provide a complete therapy program
“Our mission is to rehabilitate our patients and return them to their previous living arrangements. Vericare mental health professionals work in conjunction with our physicians, nurses, dieticians and administrative staff to provide a complete therapy program for our patients.”

Christina Torrinello, Social Services Director

Village Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, San Marcos, CA

At Vericare, we are here to help.

Vericare provides a complete system of behavioral healthcare and wellness program for residents of long term and skilled care facilities at virtually no cost to the facility.

When you partner with Vericare to deliver geriatric behavioral healthcare treatment to your residential patients, you will be assigned a licensed clinician who is trained to understand the mental health needs of seniors and is experienced in working in residential, long term care facilities.

Vericare’s licensed clinicians include:

  • Doctoral Level Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D.)
  • Psychiatric Physicians (M.D.)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers( LCSW)
  • Advanced Practice Nurses (APN)

Our healthcare professionals will be matched to your facility’s needs. Vericare clinicians conduct assessments, formulate treatment plans and typically perform one or more of the following clinical services for residents within skilled nursing facilities:

  • Individual psychotherapy
  • Psychotropic medication management
  • Behavior management
  • Rehabilitation support services
  • Neuropsychological assessment
  • Family therapy at patient intake and/or transition to new lifestyle
  • Group therapy

Best of all, most of these services are performed at no cost to the nursing home or skilled nursing facility. In most cases, Vericare bills Medicare (part B) or private insurance for the services provided to referred patients, so the facility has no financial obligations for the behavioral services. Occasionally when “non-covered” services are ordered for residents a direct bill arrangement to the facility can be made.

We invite you to explore becoming a Vericare partner. There is no cost to your facility for doing so. For more information, you may review these frequently asked questions and schedule a private consultation with Dennis Walsh by calling 1-800-257-8715 x1121
